說法雖竟，時眾不散，肅有所待，故知前之說法，舉眾來集，待於後聞；此事奇特與常說異，何意非瑞？雖入開定，意在合定，與常入定有異，何意非瑞相耶？又文殊引古佛六瑞皆有此事，若昔非瑞相，何以證今？今古同然，豈可以凡情而非之耶？

Although the preaching of the Dharma had ended, the assembly at that time did not disperse, but solemnly had something they awaited. Thus we know that the previous preaching of the Dharma brought the entire assembly together to wait for what was to be heard subsequently. This matter was extraordinary and different from ordinary preachings; why should it not be an auspicious omen? Although he entered the opening concentration, his intention lay in the unifying concentration, which differed from entering concentration ordinarily; why should it not be an auspicious omen? Furthermore, Mañjuśrī cited the six omens of ancient buddhas, all of which had this occurrence. If it had not been an auspicious omen in the past, how could it verify the present? The present and the past are identical; how could one reject it based on ordinary worldly sentiments?
