2.52

次列尼眾者，舊以此例前為二眾，今不用。若例前為多識、少識二眾者，又復無文，義亦不可。但是舉兩眾主，何須苦名為大小、多少耶？

Next are listed the assembly of nuns. Previously, commentators took this, following the preceding pattern, as two assemblies; I do not adopt this now. If one were to follow the preceding pattern and take them as two assemblies of those widely known and less known, there is again no textual basis, nor is the meaning permissible. It simply lists the leaders of the two assemblies; why must one insist on naming them great and small, or more and less?
