3.24

從「是時日月」下，第二、說法名同者，如文。上彌勒見他土初頓，頓後見漸，漸後見種種行，行後無境，後見佛涅槃；今文殊答曾見佛初，頓頓後漸，後云種種行，即見《法華》。此彼六瑞之後已說《法華》，《法華》後即入涅槃，此分明定答他土之問也。

From the line, "At that time the Sun," onward, secondly, as for the correspondence of the title of the Dharma preached, it is as in the text. Above, Maitreya saw in other lands the initial sudden [teaching], after the sudden saw the gradual, after the gradual saw various practices, after the practices there was no object, and afterward saw the Buddha's nirvāṇa; now Mañjuśrī answers that the Buddha he once saw initially preached the sudden, after the sudden the gradual, and afterward spoke of various practices, whereupon he saw the Lotus Sūtra. Here and there, after the six portents he had already preached the Lotus Sūtra, and after the Lotus Sūtra he immediately entered nirvāṇa—this clearly and definitively answers the question concerning other lands.
