From 'Why is this?' downward, Guangzhai says: 'This is the section praising Śākya[muni]'. Now, inferring the meaning of the text, it is a paired explanation of the two wisdoms of all Buddhas. From 'The Buddhas have closely attended' down to 'fully practiced the Dharmas of the Path', it explains the real wisdom of all Buddhas: genuinely because externally they encountered many Buddhas and received the supreme essentials, their real wisdom is profound; genuinely because internally their practice was pure and rich and they fully practiced the Dharmas of the Path, their real wisdom is immeasurable. Immeasurable explains the horizontal breadth, and profound explains the vertical height. 'Vigorously striving, their renown is heard everywhere' explains the expedient wisdom of all Buddhas. As for 'the gateway to their wisdom is difficult to understand and difficult to enter': genuinely because they vigorously strove they were able to enter the difficult-to-enter gateway; and having entered the gateway, their grace extended boundlessly and beings venerated their superior virtue, hence their renown was heard everywhere. One can also divide the sentences: 'vigorously striving' they were able to enter the Dharma gateway, which explains the depth of expedient wisdom; 'their renown is heard everywhere' explains the breadth of expedient wisdom. Observing that the text on the expedient lacks words of depth and breadth, by analogy with real wisdom this meaning is established (and so on).
