四眾天人亦具三品，上根同身子，中下可知。又解，身子、迦葉並是權行，中下未開故，迦葉、滿願示同不解，《淨名》云：「眾生未愈，菩薩亦未愈。」（云云）

The heavenly and human beings of the fourfold assembly also possess three grades of faculties: those of higher faculties are identical to Śāriputra, while those of middling and lower faculties may be inferred. Another explanation is that both Śāriputra and Kāśyapa are practicing expedients: because those of middling and lower faculties have not yet been opened, Kāśyapa and Pūrṇa manifest as not understanding, just as the Vimalakīrtinirdeśa says: "Until sentient beings are cured, the bodhisattva is likewise not cured." (And so on.)
