8.12

第二，偈頌，有十二行半，為二：初一行半，頌內心得解，又二：初一行，頌慶喜，次半行，頌悔責也。次「於無量佛寶」下，第二，有十一行，頌自陳領解。上文有二，今初半行，頌悔責得少為足，略不頌難悟今乃知之。「如無智愚人」半行，頌略舉譬。「便自以為足」，頌釋無智意。次十行，頌譬說開合，初六行頌開，後四行頌合。上開有二，今初四行頌捨寶不知，後二行頌親友覺悟。餘文易見。

Second, the verse section has twelve and a half lines and divides into two parts: first, one and a half lines in verse on the inner mind attaining understanding, which again has two parts: first, one line in verse celebrates with joy; next, half a line in verse expresses repentance and reproach. Next, from 'In the treasure of countless buddhas' onward is the second part, having eleven lines that versify the personal statement of understanding. In the preceding text there were two parts; now the first half-line versifies the repentance and reproach for being satisfied with a little, while omitting the versification of being difficult to awaken and only now realizing it. The half-line 'Like an ignorant and foolish person' versifies the brief presentation of the parable. 'He immediately considered it sufficient' versifies the explanation of the meaning of lacking wisdom. The next ten lines versify the unfolding and joining of the parable; the first six lines versify the unfolding, and the latter four lines versify the joining. In the unfolding above there were two parts; now the first four lines versify abandoning the jewel without knowing it, and the latter two lines versify the close friend awakening him.
