釋提婆達多品（生時人天心熱，因此立名，即因緣釋名也；因行逆而理順，即圓教之意，非餘教意也。本地清涼，迹示天熱，同眾生病耳）

Exposition of the Devadatta Chapter (At his birth the minds of humans and devas grew hot, and his name was established from this, which is an explanation of the name through causal conditions; because his practice was rebellious while in principle aligned, this is the meaning of the perfect teaching, not the meaning of the other teachings. His original ground was cool and clear, yet his traces manifested heavenly heat, conforming to sentient beings' illness).
