8.88

《大經》偏論折伏，住一子地，何曾無攝受？此經偏明攝受，頭破七分，非無折伏。各舉一端適時而已，理必具四。何者？適時稱宜即世界意？攝受即為人意，折伏即對治意，悟道即第一義意也。

The Great Sūtra predominantly discusses crushing and subduing, yet when dwelling on the stage of the single child, how could it lack gathering in? This sūtra predominantly explains gathering in, yet with heads splitting into seven parts, it is not without crushing and subduing. Each highlights one aspect according to the needs of the time, that is all; in principle, both necessarily possess all four [siddhāntas]. Why is this? Accordance with the time and suitability is the intention of the worldly [siddhānta]; gathering in is the intention of [individual adaptation] for persons; crushing and subduing is the intention of counteraction; and awakening to the Way is the intention of the paramārtha-satya.
