The verse has fourteen and a half lines, divided into two: the first four lines verse the preceding practice of Dharma; the next ten and a half lines verse the preceding praise of the sūtra. The initial versification of the practice of Dharma also has two: the first line directly verses the fulfillment of practice. The above summarized the fulfillment of practice, and now the verse specifically reveals it. "Constantly practicing forbearance" verses the fulfillment of wearing the robe; "Pitying all" verses the fulfillment of entering the room; "Then able to expound" verses the fulfillment of sitting on the seat. Next, from "In the latter, evil age..." below, second, three lines verse the practice of the Dharma. Above there were three—the realm, the cause, and the vows—and the verse fully covers them. Next, from "Just as a powerful [king]..." below, second, there are ten and a half lines that verse the preceding praise of the Dharma being difficult to hear. Above there were Dharma, simile, and application; now it only verses the simile and application. The versification of the simile has two: the first three lines verse not giving the pearl; next, from "If there are brave..." below, second, one line verses giving the pearl. Next, from "The Tathāgata is also like this..." below, second, applies the simile. The first three and a half lines verse the application of not giving the pearl; next, from "Having known sentient beings..." below, second, three lines verse the application of giving the pearl. The detailed divisions within them are as explained above.
