9.9

從「晝夜常說無上道教」去，第二，四行，頌上觀門。上云「但以大乘答」，頌云「說無上道」；上云「令得一切種智」，頌云「願成佛道」。「我滅度」下，第三，五行偈，明口安樂行成。初一行，標行成。次「無嫉」下，第二，二行，明內無過則外難不生，如無臭物蠅則不來。次「智者如是」下，第三，一行，明內有善法所以行成。「如我上說」者，若內無過，如長行中說；若內有善，如偈中說。次「其人功德」下，第四，一行，格量功德，如文。

From "day and night constantly expounding the teaching of the unsurpassed Way" onward, the second, four lines verse the contemplation approach above. Above it said "only replying with the Mahāyāna", and the verse says "expounding the unsurpassed Way"; above it said "causing them to attain the knowledge of all modes", and the verse says "wishing them to accomplish the Buddha Way". From "after I pass into extinction" below, the third, five lines of verse clarify the completion of the comfortable practice of speech. The first line marks the completion of practice. Next, from "without jealousy" below, the second, two lines clarify that when there are no internal faults, external difficulties do not arise, just as flies do not come when there are no foul-smelling things. Next, from "a wise person like this" below, the third, one line clarifies that because there are wholesome dharmas within, practice is completed. As for "as I have stated above": having no faults within is as stated in the prose; having wholesome dharmas within is as stated in the verses. Next, from "that person's merit" below, the fourth, one line evaluates the merit, as in the text.
