1.26

"Fourth, demonstrating the marks: we shall provisionally demonstrate the marks of causality with reference to the three sections. Long ago, sentient beings were graced by the Buddha's skill-in-means, which caused them to plant the causes and conditions of the Buddha path. Meeting again in the interim, he further employed different expedients to help reveal the primary truth and bring them to maturity. Today, raining flowers and shaking the earth, he brings them to parinirvāṇa through the Tathāgata's parinirvāṇa.
