二明數中直爾舉數，即是因緣，亦可於中義立四悉：數異，世界也；聞數生善，即為人也；破惡入真，準例可見。不論約教者，教別數同故無異釋，若隨數生解即是教殊。

Second, in explaining the number, directly presenting the number is simply [the interpretation according to] causes and conditions, and one may also conventionally establish the four siddhāntas within it: the differentiation of the number is the mundane; hearing the number and generating wholesome [roots] is for individuals; eradicating evil and entering the real can be understood following this analogy. That [an explanation] according to the teachings is not discussed is because the teachings differ while the number is the same, so there is no different interpretation; yet if one generates understanding in accordance with the number, that is precisely the distinction among teachings.
