多寶本願但云「以塔聽經」，若以我身示四眾者，令集分身，當知分身開塔故集，釋迦亦為開塔住空，住空故開塔，塔開故命坐，囑累故出塔，出塔故塔閉，塔閉故分身事訖，事訖故須散，故塔開閉分身聚散各有因緣，何須難言二命不齊？

Prabhūtaratna's original vow merely said, "Listen to the sūtra with the stūpa. If my body is to be shown to the fourfold assembly, let the emanation [buddhas] be gathered." You should know that the emanation [buddhas] gathered because of opening the stūpa. Śākyamuni also dwelt in the sky in order to open the stūpa; because he dwelt in the sky, he opened the stūpa; because the stūpa was opened, he was invited to sit; because of the entrustment, he emerged from the stūpa; because he emerged from the stūpa, the stūpa was closed; because the stūpa was closed, the business of the emanation [buddhas] was concluded; because their business was concluded, they had to be dismissed. Thus the opening and closing of the stūpa, and the gathering and dispersal of the emanation [buddhas], each have their causes and conditions; why must you raise the objection that the two commands were not uniform?
