10.36

問中先答，次結示。先答意者，如別教人各自於五而盡其邊亦得名度，故且以次第之五為校量本。然般若名通、此中則局，故以本門正慧校此第權五，故今般若即是深信解相為能校量。

In the question, he first answers, and next concludes and demonstrates. The meaning of the first answer is: like persons of the separate teaching who each exhaust the boundary of the five, they also obtain the designation of crossing over; therefore, he provisionally takes the sequential five as the basis for comparison. However, the name prajñā is universal, while here it is restricted; therefore, he compares the provisional five of this sequence using the correct wisdom of the origin gate. Thus, the present prajñā is precisely the characteristic of profound faith and understanding serving as that which can make the comparison.
