大同小異。發者開也。若迹覆本，開其能覆名為發迹，迹既發已即見其本，約所開邊乃名發本。以覆本故，迹名能覆、本名所覆，約所除邊名為發迹，約所見邊名為發本。

They are broadly the same with minor differences. 'Revealing' (fa) means opening. If the traces conceal the origin, opening that which conceals is called 'revealing the traces.' Once the traces have been revealed, one immediately perceives the origin; from the side of that which is opened, it is called 'revealing the origin.' Because they conceal the origin, the traces are called that which conceals, and the origin is called that which is concealed. From the side of that which is removed, it is called 'revealing the traces'; from the side of that which is seen, it is called 'revealing the origin.'
