3.79

破古中先敘，次「今明」下破。先去取，云「其法說不用」者，仍存其譬；不用法者，本門太早故也。

In refuting the ancients, he first recounts [their views], and next, from “now we clarify” downward, refutes them. First taking and rejecting, saying “their expounding of Dharma is not used,” he still retains their metaphor; not using their Dharma is because the origin gate is too early.
