通序通於本迹，別序唯在迹門，故釋通序汎用本門，非通序中廣開壽量，乃至別序雖有本迹之言，或時且用體用本迹。

The general preface applies generally to origin and traces, whereas the specific preface lies exclusively in the trace gate. Therefore, explaining the general preface broadly applies the origin gate, which is not an extensive opening of the Life Span within the general preface; and even as for the specific preface, although there are words of origin and traces, sometimes it tentatively uses the origin and traces of essence and function.
