5.64

文中兩釋，初釋為正，後釋乃兼實行聲聞。起去之徒亦於現在未有大機是故而退，如有糟糠而無酒米。「枝葉」者，無入道材。

There are two explanations in the text: the first explanation is the primary one, and the second explanation additionally includes voice-hearers of actual practice. The crowd that rose and left also had no great capacity in the present, and for that reason withdrew, like having dregs and chaff without wine and rice. Regarding 'branches and leaves': they lack the timber for entering the path.
