6.74

前之三教當教論發，還對當教除不除等，此則可見。若並望於圓機論發，則菩薩通前二乘不定，圓教如何論斷等四，云何更動？

In the preceding three teachings, arousal is discussed in terms of the teaching itself, and corresponds back to the elimination or non-elimination of that teaching itself; this is understandable. But if arousal is discussed by looking together toward the capacity of the perfect, then the bodhisattvas run together with the preceding two vehicles indeterminately; how can the four [propositions] of severing and so forth be discussed in the perfect teaching, and how could there be further stirring?
