國城家舍雖寬狹異，並是所依有餘不逾斷德，今家對珍寶故云實境，下舍對子機，故云慈悲。故知云無緣慈悲，必須等於實相，故二舍義一隨所對耳。

Although country, city, home, and house differ in breadth and narrowness, all are what is relied upon; remainder does not exceed the virtue of severance. Here, the home corresponds to the rare treasures and is thus called the real sphere; the house below corresponds to the son's capacity and is thus called loving-kindness and compassion. Therefore, know that what is called conditionless loving-kindness and compassion must be equal to true character; hence the meaning of the two houses is one, varying only according to what they correspond to.
