Regarding 'exhorting cultivation': abiding in the three dharmas, yet exhorted to have a mind without indolence and only then preach, one thus knows this refers only to the first two stages among the stages of contemplative practice. Therefore, one is exhorted to propagate the Perfect Sūtra in order to benefit others; when the merit of transformation returns to oneself and one reaches the stage of semblance, spontaneous wondrous sounds pervade the three thousand realms without waiting for exhortation. Among them, when the three dharmas are viewed in relation to one another, each is said to possess three: first, kindness and compassion are indicated; next, below 'if in terms of...', it clarifies that one contains three; below 'cultivating the Tathāgata's...', gentleness is indicated; next, below 'if in terms of...', it clarifies that one contains three; below 'if in terms of being able to sit...', there is no indication, and it directly clarifies the three within prajñā. Although each contains [three], they are merely a single triad; the three are not even three, so how could they be separated into nine? Thus, the bodhisattva constantly contemplates nirvāṇa; therefore, those who propagate the sūtra are exhorted to constantly contemplate it. It is hoped that those who propagate the sūtra will contemplate and propagate it; if one does not contemplate the mind capable of propagating, how can one understand the principle that is propagated? Therefore, the Buddha bids [one to] enter my room, wear my robe, and sit on my seat; if without these three dharmas, what could be called propagating the sūtra? Below 'Peaceful Practices', the text of the subsequent chapter is cited as equally having this benefit; therefore, it exhorts propagators to rely on the method. Below 'the text above', the preceding text is cited to explain and establish it. Regarding the 'five matters': as listed previously under the benefits, the five beginning with dispatching transformed persons are these.
