答中為八：初通答，次約二諦，三約四悉，四「若通途」下正明今經，五「他經」下對於他經以辨有無，六「元諸佛」下廣約四悉，七「授記」下判能所異名，八「中根」下來意。

The answer has eight parts: first, a general answer; second, according to the two truths; third, according to the four siddhāntas; fourth, under 'If according to the general path', properly clarifying the present sūtra; fifth, under 'Other sūtras', discerning existence and non-existence in comparison to other sūtras; sixth, under 'Originally the buddhas', extensively treating it according to the four siddhāntas; seventh, under 'Bestowal of prophecy', determining the different names of agent and object; eighth, under 'Middling faculties', the purpose of its occurrence.
