Regarding "Question: Are the phantoms the three carts?" and so forth: the intent of the question is that both fruitions, the carts and the city, are in nirvāṇa; if the city has the name "phantom," how could the carts not be a phantom? If they are suddenly conceded to be phantoms, what are the similarities and differences? In the answer, tentatively speaking, although the two wheels differ slightly, in terms of bestowing transformation, their grand purpose remains the same. Now, following convenience, the shared [aspect] tentatively follows transformation, while the spoken [aspect] should follow teaching. Furthermore, one should also say: just as an illusionist speaks to illusory people, the carts are also named phantoms, while speaking of two nirvāṇas midway means the city is also teaching; therefore we know one must not mutually cling based on the parables. Furthermore, in terms of voice and form: this also provisionally concerns the parables; the carts also pertain to form, and speaking of the city is teaching, as stated before and so forth.
