今明為自他故、異聲聞故、自行無有憂擯辱故、利他無鄙力劣弱故，唯有退沒一分似舊，故云「未必」。

The present [text] clarifies that it is for the sake of self and other, because it differs from the voice-hearers, because in one's own practice there is no worry of banishment and insult, and because in benefiting others there is no contemptible weakness of strength; only in the single aspect of backsliding does it resemble the old, hence it says 'not necessarily'.
