好面譽者未必讚善，讚通隱顯、制面防喻，故安樂行人自護防彼。
One who likes to praise to the face does not necessarily praise good deeds. Praise extends to both the concealed and the manifest, whereas prohibiting [praise to] the face guards against insinuations; therefore, practitioners of peaceful practices protect themselves and guard against others.
