復次欲斷二乘及菩薩疑，故說是經，如言菩薩聞是法疑網皆已除，千二百阿羅漢悉亦當作佛也。
Furthermore, this sūtra is preached in order to cut off the doubts of the two vehicles and the bodhisattvas, as it is said: 'When the bodhisattvas hear this Dharma, the net of doubts is completely removed; the twelve hundred arhats shall also all become buddhas.'
