答：彼論明地地三僧祇劫，此據其極久者耳。復有超生義則不定，如釋迦之超彌勒等也。又此經但明八生得佛乃至四生得佛耳，不云何從八生經得至四生也。

Answer: That treatise explains three asaṃkhyeya kalpas for each bhūmi based on the extreme maximum duration. There is also the principle of skipping rebirths, which is not fixed, just as Śākyamuni surpassed Maitreya and the like. Furthermore, this sūtra only clarifies attaining Buddhahood in eight rebirths down to attaining Buddhahood in four rebirths; it does not say how one goes from eight rebirths to four rebirths upon hearing the sūtra.
