答：略明十六種義。一明此華眾華中最第一，《釋論》云「陸生中須漫那華為第一，水生中青蓮華為第一。」以喻此經眾經中最為第一。故下云「諸佛已說、今說、當說，而此《法華》最為深妙。」

Answer: We briefly explain sixteen meanings. First, it clarifies that this flower is foremost among all flowers. The *Treatise* says: "Among land-growing flowers, the sumanā flower is foremost; among water-growing flowers, the blue lotus is foremost." This illustrates that this sūtra is foremost among all sūtras. Therefore it is said below: "Among those the Buddhas have spoken, are speaking, or will speak, this *Lotus Sūtra* is the most profound and wondrous."
