問：此經云「佛此夜滅度如薪盡火滅」，此是小乘灰斷涅槃，云何言是大乘涅槃耶？

Question: This sūtra states, "The Buddha this night attains extinction, like fire extinguished when fuel is exhausted." This is the lesser vehicle's nirvāṇa of ash-transformation and annihilation; how can it be said to be the Mahāyāna nirvāṇa?
