答：此是人情義耳，非佛義也。佛經前偈明非真滅，後偈辨真滅，云何將配一乘義耶？若以此文明一乘無三相者，前文應云三乘非真滅，不應言涅槃非真滅也。

Answer: This is merely a notion born of human sentiment, not the Buddha's meaning. In the Buddha's sūtra, the preceding verse explains non-true extinction and the subsequent verse distinguishes true extinction; how could one take this to match the meaning of the one vehicle? If one were to use this text to explain that the one vehicle is without the three marks, the preceding text ought to have said that the three vehicles are not true extinction, and should not have said that nirvāṇa is not true extinction.
