答：前已說竟。《法華》已明一乘，《勝鬘》復何用明一耶？《大品》明空解，諸般若復何用明耶？又若爾者，第三時但有《維摩》明抑揚，《思益》應無用耶？

Answer: This was already explained earlier. Since the *Lotus Sūtra* has already made clear the one vehicle, what need was there for the *Śrīmālādevī-sūtra* to clarify the one vehicle again? Since the *Larger Prajñāpāramitā* made clear the understanding of emptiness, what need was there for the other Prajñāpāramitā scriptures to clarify it? Moreover, if that were so, since in the third period there was only the *Vimalakīrti-sūtra* to clarify suppression and elevation, should the *Viśeṣacintibrahma-paripṛcchā* be useless?
