第五《法華》是《波若》異名者，論云「波若不屬二乘，但屬菩薩。」即波若是教菩薩法，《法華》明一乘，亦明教菩薩法，佛所護念，是故《波若》、《法華》異名也。又要從二慧父母乃生諸佛，《波若》既明此二者，則《法華》明作佛亦同《波若》，即《波若》、《法華》不異，但開權一邊異《波若》耳。

Fifth, as for the Lotus being another name for Prajñā: the treatise says, 'Prajñā does not belong to the two vehicles, but only to bodhisattvas.' That is, Prajñā is the teaching for bodhisattvas; the Lotus clarifies the one vehicle, and also clarifies the teaching for bodhisattvas protected and remembered by the buddhas; therefore Prajñā and the Lotus are different names [for the same]. Furthermore, one must rely on the father and mother of the two kinds of wisdom to give birth to the buddhas. Since Prajñā clarifies these two, the Lotus's clarification of attaining buddhahood is also identical to Prajñā. That is, Prajñā and the Lotus are not different; it is merely that the aspect of revealing the provisional is different from Prajñā.
