答：通猶一耳。但權宜當一時之目、據三乘義；方便是善巧通於一三，如巧說一乘亦名方便，故方便名通於一三也。

Answer: Generally speaking, they are just one. However, provisional fits the designation of temporary appropriateness, based on the meaning of the three vehicles; skillful means is clever adaptiveness that applies to both the one and the three, just as skillfully expounding the One Vehicle is also called skillful means; therefore the name skillful means applies to both the one and the three.
