答：已如前釋。離聖則難、勉凡則易，故方便力大、實慧力小。又實慧但是六地，方便據七地。又實慧如母，方便如父。有又實慧三乘共，方便獨在菩薩。又方便必有實，實不必有方便。又如什公答王稚遠問，方便與智同是慧性，但智淺而方便深，了實相名實慧、不證實際名方便也。

Answer: It has already been explained above. Departing from the sages is difficult, while escaping worldlings is easy; therefore the power of skillful means is great, and the power of real wisdom is small. Furthermore, real wisdom is merely on the sixth stage, whereas skillful means is based on the seventh stage. Furthermore, real wisdom is like a mother, and skillful means is like a father. Furthermore, real wisdom is shared with the three vehicles, whereas skillful means belongs exclusively to bodhisattvas. Furthermore, skillful means necessarily possesses the real, while the real does not necessarily possess skillful means. Furthermore, as Master Kumārajīva answered Wang Zhiyuan's question, skillful means and wisdom are identical in the nature of discernment, but wisdom is shallow while skillful means is deep; understanding the true mark is called real wisdom, while not realizing the reality limit is called skillful means.
