答：可具四句。一者障重機弱，謂凡夫不聞大乘也。二障重機強，謂凡夫聞大乘也。具五濁故障重，有大機故機強。機強故，雖有五濁，不能為障也。三障輕機弱，謂羅漢不聞大乘。無五濁故障輕，無大機故不聞一乘也。四障輕機強，謂羅漢得聞一乘也。

Answer: It may comprise four propositions. First, heavy obstacle and weak capacity: this refers to ordinary beings who do not hear the Great Vehicle. Second, heavy obstacle and strong capacity: this refers to ordinary beings who hear the Great Vehicle. Possessing the five defilements, their obstacles are heavy; possessing great capacity, their capacity is strong. Because their capacity is strong, even though they possess the five defilements, these cannot act as obstacles. Third, light obstacle and weak capacity: this refers to arhats who do not hear the Great Vehicle. Without the five defilements, their obstacles are light; lacking great capacity, they do not hear the one vehicle. Fourth, light obstacle and strong capacity: this refers to arhats who get to hear the one vehicle.
