答：實爾也。凡夫具五濁而遂聞一乘者，此是機強，而五濁有時廢，不常現前，故障弱也。前作此判者，取其有五為重、無五為輕也。

Answer: It is truly so. When ordinary beings possess the five defilements and yet hear the one vehicle, this is because their capacity is strong, while the five defilements are at times suspended and not constantly manifest before them; thus their obstacle is weak. The former distinction was made taking possessing the five as heavy and lacking the five as light.
