答：《大經》復云「為諸聲聞開發慧眼，說祕密藏。」如其已知則慧明已發，云何更開？又二乘已知則無復八倒，何所斥耶？

Answer: The Mahāparinirvāṇa-sūtra also says, 'To open up the eye of wisdom for the śrāvakas, I explain the secret treasury.' If they already knew it, their wisdom-illumination would have already opened; why would he open it again? Furthermore, if the two vehicles already knew it, they would no longer have the eight inversions; what would there be to reprimand?
