答：前已通竟，今亦二條釋兩品意。長者宅中有三十子者，此約二乘人始終具三乘根性耳。但成道時唯有二乘根性而無大機，是以一乘化之不得，故於一說三為二乘人也。

Answer: This was already resolved earlier, and now the intent of the two chapters is also explained under two points. That there are thirty children in the elder's house refers to practitioners of the two vehicles fully possessing the dispositions of the three vehicles from beginning to end. However, at the time of attaining the way, there were only the dispositions of the two vehicles and no great spiritual capacity; therefore, they could not be transformed with the one vehicle, and teaching three based on the one was for practitioners of the two vehicles.
