答：二譬意別，非一例也。三車本意為求三乘作譬，化城本意為求佛道作譬，但中途懈退故權設化城也。

Answer: The intents of the two parables are distinct and not of one kind. The original intent of the three carriages was to serve as a parable for seeking the three vehicles; the original intent of the conjured city was to serve as a parable for seeking the Buddha Way, but because they grew weary and retreated midway, the conjured city was provisionally established.
