6.47

問：昔說佛既不具足，即是方便。道理唯有具足無不具足。昔有此不具佛，今無此不具足佛，即是昔有今無，菩薩應索不具足車。

Question: Since the former explanation of the Buddha was incomplete, it was a skillful means. In principle, there is only completeness and no incompleteness. Formerly there was this incomplete Buddha, but now this incomplete Buddha does not exist; this means it existed formerly and is absent now, so the bodhisattva ought to demand the incomplete carriage.
