Answer: Below, in the matching of the parable, it says: "If he sees that immeasurable hundreds of thousands of myriads of sentient beings, by means of the Buddha's teaching gate, have exited the suffering of the three realms and attained the joy of nirvāṇa, he then bestows the great carriage." This refers to arhats not being one, hence there are "sons." Furthermore, although there were no pratyekabuddhas present, implicitly constructing the parable of demanding the carriages for persons of the pratyekabuddha fruit, and matching it with persons at the causal stage of the pratyekabuddha gaining an understanding, is also doctrinally without fault. Moreover, one precisely uses this text to prove that there is no doctrine of bodhisattvas demanding the carriages. The single person of the arhat is already sufficient to demand the three; why must there be three kinds of persons before demanding the three?
