評曰：此乃是《大經》明五人發心離於五位，今非此中意。所以然者，上來皆明權實之義，今譬亦明權實。度三百立化城此是權，度五百至寶所名為實，故廢化城進寶所。若明度五人者皆是進寶所譬，失立化城譬意，故此非解也。

Appraising this: This is merely the Mahāparinirvāṇa-sūtra explaining that five persons generate the aspiration and leave the five stages; it is not the meaning here. Why is this so? Everything above explained the meaning of provisional and real, and the present parable also explains the provisional and real. Crossing three hundred to establish the conjured city is the provisional; crossing five hundred to reach the place of jewels is called the real; therefore the conjured city is abandoned and they advance to the place of jewels. If explaining crossing five persons, these are all parables of advancing to the place of jewels, losing the meaning of the parable of establishing the conjured city; hence this is not an explanation.
