答：《釋論》明法身者，望華臺舍那，丈六釋迦為法身耳；若望究竟法身，猶屬迹身。何以知然？經云「隱名如來藏，顯名法身。唯佛能見，十地不覩。」《釋論》所明猶化菩薩，則菩薩見之，故知屬應身。

Answer: When the Treatise explains the dharmakāya, it is only that the sixteen-foot Śākyamuni is considered a dharmakāya relative to Rocana on the lotus pedestal; if viewed relative to the ultimate dharmakāya, it still belongs to the trace body. How is this known? The sūtra says: "When concealed, it is named the tathāgatagarbha; when manifest, it is named the dharmakāya. Only a Buddha can see it; the ten stages do not perceive it." What the Treatise explains still converts bodhisattvas, and thus bodhisattvas see it; therefore we know it belongs to the response body.
