9.23

問：《大經．金剛身品》云「雖不常住，非念念滅」，此是何身？若是法身即應常住，若是應身應念念滅。云何而言雖不常住非念念滅耶？

Question: The "Vajra Body" chapter of the Mahāparinirvāṇa-sūtra says: "Although it is not eternally abiding, it does not perish moment by moment." Which body is this? If it were the dharmakāya, it should be eternally abiding; if it were the responsive body, it should perish moment by moment. Why does it say, "Although it is not eternally abiding, it does not perish moment by moment"?
