答：小乘謂骨是金剛，肉非金剛，以傷出血故。大乘明一切堅滿，故皆是金剛，無有能傷佛身肉者也。

Answer: The Hīnayāna holds that the bones are adamantine but the flesh is not adamantine, because wounding it caused blood to flow. The Mahāyāna explains that everything is solid and whole, so it is entirely adamantine, and nothing can wound the flesh of the Buddha's body.
