Answer: Briefly explaining it in terms of two points: First, this sūtra clarifies the meaning of the three leadings. From the beginning to the end of a single teaching era, there are only three leadings, and upon reaching the Lotus, the three leadings are consummated. First, after the Deer Park and before the Lotus, leading the ninety-six kinds of non-Buddhists and all other householder sentient beings into the teaching of the five vehicles; this is called leading the deviant to return to the correct. Second, leading the differences of the five vehicles to return together to the one vehicle; this is the first section of the Lotus. Third, leading the cause of the one vehicle to enter the fruit of the Tathāgata's dharmakāya; this is the second section. These three leadings subsume all teachings. For this reason, all those who were destined to be awakened attained the Way in this sūtra.
