第四、有無門者，龍樹云：「小乘經初無菩薩眾，大乘經首具大小兩眾。」然斯言未盡，諸大乘經凡有四句：一、但有菩薩眾無聲聞眾，如華嚴七會。二、但有聲聞眾無菩薩眾，如《金剛般若》。三、具有二眾，即如此經。四、俱無二眾，如《金光明經》。

Fourth, concerning the gate of presence and absence: Nāgārjuna says, 'The beginning of Hīnayāna sūtras has no bodhisattva assembly, while the opening of Mahāyāna sūtras possesses both the great and small assemblies.' However, these words are not exhaustive; all Mahāyāna sūtras have four alternatives: first, only having a bodhisattva assembly without a śrāvaka assembly, like the seven assemblies of the *Avataṃsaka*; second, only having a śrāvaka assembly without a bodhisattva assembly, like the *Vajracchedikā-prajñāpāramitā*; third, possessing both assemblies, just like this sūtra; fourth, lacking both assemblies, like the *Suvarṇaprabhāsa Sūtra*.
