「眾所知識」者，《法華論》明二種眾：一者、人王天王大眾所知識，二者、聲聞菩薩佛聖眾所知識，知其內德識其外形。又遠眾則知，近眾則識，有知而不識等四句。

Regarding "recognized by the assembly", the *Fahua lun* clarifies two kinds of assemblies: first, recognized by the great assemblies of human kings and heavenly kings; second, recognized by the noble assemblies of śrāvakas, bodhisattvas, and buddhas. They know their inner virtue and recognize their external appearance. Furthermore, distant assemblies know them, while near assemblies recognize them, forming four permutations such as knowing but not recognizing, and so on.
