雖明十八，攝無不周，但賢守等是在家大士，文殊等是出家菩薩。又彌勒等當成佛菩薩，觀音等是已成佛菩薩。又彌勒是此土，觀音是他方。又賢守等是王舍城舊人，寶積等是毘耶離客眾。以此四雙總攝八萬也。

Although only eighteen are explained, their inclusion is entirely comprehensive. Bhadrapāla and others are lay great beings, while Mañjuśrī and others are monastic bodhisattvas. Furthermore, Maitreya and others are bodhisattvas who will become buddhas, while Avalokiteśvara and others are bodhisattvas who have already become buddhas. Furthermore, Maitreya is of this land, while Avalokiteśvara is from another region. Furthermore, Bhadrapāla and others are native residents of Rājagṛha, while Ratnākara and others are visiting members from Vaiśālī. With these four pairs, the eighty thousand are completely subsumed.
