《阿含經》云「無色界天見身子涅槃，淚下如雨」，則知小乘亦明有色；但從多為論，言無色耳。
The Āgama sūtras state: 'When the devas of the formless realm saw Śāriputra enter nirvāṇa, their tears fell like rain.' Thus we know that the Hīnayāna also explains that they have form; it is only spoken of in terms of predominance that it is called 'formless.'
